Youth Instructor
The idea of jiu jitsu for fitness as well as possible self-defense came onto my radar way before I ever started training. Being an active and outdoorsy person, I have always been “fit enough” to do whatever I’ve wanted to do, but for some reason, I had it in my mind that I needed to hit the gym and “muscle up” before I tried my hand at jiu jitsu. It wasn’t until my 34th birthday when it finally dawned on me how much time I had wasted waiting for the conditions to be right to begin the journey.
Once I started, that was it!
One of the things I love most about OSJJ is feeling like I’ve gained a whole bunch of brothers and sisters, who just so happen to like to submit each other. Iron sharpens iron.
The community, the fitness, the culture, the personal development, and our jiu jitsu kids continuously impress me.
It’s been almost five years, and I am grateful to be a part of Coach Jake’s vision with the growth of Old School Jiu Jitsu.
