Adult Instructor
I’m Cameron, a husband, father, power lineman, jiu jitsu coach, and a guy who loves the outdoors—even if my aim says otherwise. I live in Green Castle, MO, with my wife, Kelli, and our two amazing kids—our daughter, Kendall, and our son, Cade. My days are spent working as a power lineman for Tri-County Electric, making sure people have the power they rely on. But when I step off the lines, I step onto the mats as a coach at Old School Jiu Jitsu, where I help others grow in the art that has shaped so much of my life.
The Jiu Jitsu Journey
I started training in MMA and jiu jitsu back in 2010. It was a way to push myself physically and mentally, and over the years, it became more than just a hobby—it became a way of life. In 2017, I put on the Gi for the first time at Old School Jiu Jitsu, refining my technique and deepening my understanding of the art. Now, as a coach, I get to pass on the discipline, resilience, and skill that jiu jitsu has given me.
Family, Hunting & Fatherhood
When I’m not working or on the mats, I love spending time outdoors—especially hunting. The problem? I’m a terrible shot. I’ve had my fair share of missed opportunities, but I keep coming back for more because, at the end of the day, it’s about the experience, not just the trophy. Hunting, like jiu jitsu, teaches patience and persistence—two things that also come in handy as a dad. Raising Kendall and Cade with Kelli is my greatest joy, and I try to teach them the same values that have guided me: hard work, discipline, and the importance of laughing at yourself when you miss a shot (or a takedown).
Lessons Learned
Between climbing poles, rolling on the mats, and taking questionable shots at deer, life has taught me a few things: hard work pays off, discipline builds character, and nothing beats the love of family.
